What is the best way to download free music?

I have an Ipod , and I used to use Torrentz to download all my songs for it. It worked perfectly, untill my old laptop started to get all kinds of errors and problems (webcam not working, disabled audio etc etc)
Now i finally have a new laptop , its the newest HP with beats audio.
But i want to know how i can download free music without getting any errors.
I really don’t want to risk downloading off torrentz again.
